tips on rocking

You mommies out there...what are your opinions on gliders for nursing? do you use them? are they are necessity or a luxury? What did you use?

We got a glider recliner and it is so nice. I about killed my back on our couch before that. I think (am hoping) that it will last longer and be more useful than a rocking chair, as far as having real furniture. We got it at RC Willey Outlet for about $250 (someone bought it and brought it back so they couldn't sell it new), but it's really nice and comfy. :)

we never got one (they can be pricey) but I WANTED ONE SO BAD!! And I can think of numerous of times when I would have used it (especially late night feedings).

It's not necessarily a NESSESSITY, however, it is very very nice having one. But I would maybe look on KSL for a used one because they work great, but the cost is much less...I did that and am very happy :). I got mine for $80 instead of 250-350. You can even find some for $50. Start looking now...

We just have a regular old fashioned rocking chair that it all wood and let me tell you every time I rock in it, even now, I wish I was in a soft, comfortable smooth glider.

gliders..... eh... not so much. I prefer my big soft and cozy rocker-recliner. I do not think that the average gliders that are in most nurseries are very comfy. plus a lot of times, we ended up sleeping with annica upright because of her acid reflux/ cholic. So the big puffy rocker recliner was a blessing to have. I promis I will email soon!

I have a glider... love it! Be sure to use some sort of neck support though. You'll end up with a strained neck and shoulders if you don't.
Imagine yourself sitting and sleeping for nights on end in that chair. Let that help you decide what you want to choose. Because you really will be sleeping in that thing A LOT!
Good Luck!
Love and miss ya!

I wouldn't say a necessity, but I am very glad my extended family got together to give me one for my baby shower gift. I tried out all different kids, but decided on a rocker-recliner because I didn't like that the gliders couldn't recline very far. Mine goes back to almost a horizontal position and has great lumbar support, which I loved during the last month of pregnancy. Happy hunting!

Get it!A soft, comfy glider- get it! I think its a necessity and luxury....and you're a mom- YOU DESERVE IT! Especially for how many times you nurse...you're going to want to do it COMFORTABLY! trust me.
